Our client, privately held and based in San Mateo, is a rapidly-growing startup, visited by millions of different people each month. They're expanding their product offerings, going global, and building a scalable infrastructure to support it all. They're looking for developers who can be instrumental in building out the core of the product, where search technology meets great UI and structured data to delight our customers and community.

As part of their team, you'll work with a group of top-notch Rails developers on a wide range of potential projects. They’re also committed to supporting the Rails community and other open-source projects, including contributions made by their own developers. Their site has been built on Rails since the company was founded in 2005.

Qualifications

  • should have extensive experience developing web applications using Ruby on Rails
  • should have strong data structure and design skills
  • should have previous experience working on a production, high-traffic web site
  • should have great communications skills
  • should have a  degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • should have knowledge of web standards like XHTML, CSS and Javascript (including frameworks like jQuery and YUI)
  • must have the ability to lead and manage software projects
  • must have ideas and leadership to achieve engineering best practices
  • must have experience with TDD and BDD methodologies
  • must have an eye for usability, style and design
