System Administrator Network Engineer

Growing, stable internet startup company is looking for a System Administrator/Network Engineer to manage their production, development, and corporate environments.

Responsibilities:

  • The focus of this role is to deploy servers, switches, and routers to expand their infrastructure in a highly available manner.
  • Design and implement the security architecture.
  • Tune and optimize  web services for performance.
  • Tune and optimize MySQL databases for redundancy and data availability/backups.
  • Administrate  internal and external monitoring system.
  • Configure and manage the open-source tools that they utilize.
  • Assist in the release/push process.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience with LAN/WAN technologies and solid working knowledge of IP networking.
  • Experience installing and configuring Cisco and Foundry LAN/WAN equipment.
  • Experience with linux networking tools.
  • Experience setting up and administrating wireless networks.
  • Understanding of network security concepts and experience with security technologies.
  • Experience setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting vpn.
  • Experience administrating DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMTP (sendmail), and SNMP.
  • Experience with a revision control system such as subversion.
  • Extensive Linux experience.
  • Experience setting up linux kickstart.
  • Experience with linux storage tools such as mdadm and lvm.
  • Extensive experience automating tasks with shell scripts.
  • Extensive experience with high availability technologies like drbd and heartbeat.
  • Extensive experience compiling and configuing apache and php.
  • Extensive experience with mysql, including replication and backups.
  • Experience installing and administrating monitoring tools such as nagios and Cacti.
